The keto flu is a set of symptoms that can develop somewhere around two and seven days after beginning a ketogenic diet. Headache, foggy brain, exhaustion, irritability, nausea, difficulty sleeping, and constipation are just a few signs of this medically undiagnosed disorder.
Keto flu is similar to low-carb flu, but it affects everyone in a different way. For some, keto flu can really make you feel sick and run a fever. For others, it won’t affect them at all. I personally had symptoms similar to keto flu a couple of times when I first started the diet. However, over time, I have been able to greatly reduce the severity of my symptoms.
Some people get upset when they think that keto flu is only a myth, so they decide to try a ketogenic diet anyway. And since they can’t seem to keep the symptoms at bay, they simply give up and go back to their old habits. I think of Keto flu as your bodies way of detox, cleansing and simplifying your system from the inside; flu sounds unpleasant but its a process of detoxification.
